By Clive Young. For a few years now, Continuum Books has been publishing 33 1/3, a cool series of pint-sized paperbacks, each one dedicated to exploring a notable album of the last few decades. Weighing in at nearly 70 volumes now, the ongoing string of books blithely skips around between the usual rock critic faves (Prince, Velvet Underground, Ramones); meat n’ potatoes classic rock (Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin); Baby Boomer singer/songwriters (Neil Young, Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell); and Brooklyn hipster touchstones (Neutral Milk Hotel, Sonic Youth, Pixies). [Full disclosure: I wrote a book for Continuum a while back, but not a 33 1/3; they won’t let me near 'em, actually.]

New York--Pro Sound News posted live 'tweets' to Twitter all throughout the AES Convention, bringing you the latest news, chat and observations in 140 characters or less, direct from the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York. In fact, we even tweeted the day before the convention (you can find those tweets here); from then through the end of AES four days later, we knocked out around 100 tweets, many with photos from the show floor, all of which you can find below.

As the economy starts to rebound, however, SR pros are beginning to look towards tomorrow, charting strategies to come out of the recession ahead of the pack. For many Northeast regional sound providers, next month's Audio Engineering Society Convention in New York City will be a crucial factor informing their decisions during the economic recovery.
