New York, NY (March 20, 2006)--According to the management, Avatar Studios has recently had as many as six Studer A800 machines running simultaneously on different sessions on the same day, as well as multiple 1/2" analog sessions--all at one time.

The two Studers getting a lot of attention in Avatar's Studio A.
V2 band Icarus Line has been mixing material for their upcoming release from 48-track 2" to 1/2" analog using Avatar's Studer A800s and A820, not to mention using one of the facility's 1/4" B67 machines for slap effect. Meanwhile, NY band, The Cringe, has been tracking a new album strictly to 48-track analog, and plan on mixing discretely to 1/2" analog as well. They also incorporated an Echoplex for analog reverb, according to Avatar.

Ryan Adams recently recorded to 16-track 2" analog using Avatar's 16-track headstack on a Studer A800. And, John Mayer recorded to 8-track 2" analog using the Studer A800.

Also Avatar's Roy Hendrickson and producer Sushi Kosugi mixed from 48-track analog to 1/2" analog in Roy's mix suite, Studio R, for Japanese pop star Satori Shiraishi.

In other Avatar news, Donald Fagen's solo project, Morph the Cat, from Reprise was released on March 14. Much of the work for that album was done at Avatar Studios, with Elliot Scheiner mixing the album, including the surround mix, in Studio C. Avatar's own Brian Montgomery was the overdub/Pro Tools engineer as well as the second mix engineer. Avatar's assistant engineers Eddie Jackson, Jim Keller, Chad Lupo also received credit in the album.
