New York, NY (April 20, 2006)--This Year's Tribeca Film Festival, taking place in NYC from April 25-May 7, will host the premier of three movies whose music was recorded or mixed at Avatar Studios by Avatar-based engineer, Lawrence Manchester. Those films are The Elephant King, featuring music by Adam Balazs, The Architect, featuring music by Marcelo Zarvos, and Kettle of Fish, with original songs by Ryan Shore.
Meanwhile, in Studio B, which is equipped with an SSL 9000J console, Roberta Flack recorded with producer Jerry Barnes, engineer Roy Hendrickson, and assistant by Brian Montgomery. And, John Mayer recorded overdubs with producer Steve Jordan and engineer Dave O’Donnell. Once again, Montgomery assisted, along with Anthony Ruotolo. And in Studio C, with its Neve VRP72 console, They Might Be Giants recorded with The Dust Brothers producing, and Pat Dillet engineering. Ruotolo assisted Dillet on the session. Dave Holland also recorded and mixed in C, with engineer James Farber with Montgomery and Ruotolo assisting. And, John Patitucci was in recording with engineer Joe Barbaria, and Lupo assisting.
And, finally, in-house mastering engineer, Fred Kevorkian, mastered upcoming releases by Spider Rockets, the awesomely talented and wonderful Joan as Police Woman and Papercranes. Fred also mastered an upcoming release by Don Byron as well as the much anticipated studio album by Sonny Rollins.
