New York, NY (January 2, 2007)--Word Records artist, Nicole C. Mullen, recently recorded her upcoming release at Avatar in sessions that took place in Studios A, B, C and R. Mullen's team was also the first to use Avatar's newly opened Studio E.
Sessions in Avatar's Studio B included Ralph MacDonald overdubbing with Avatar engineer Brian Montgomery, assisted by Justin Gerrish, and D'Angelo overdubbing and mixing with engineer/mixer Russ Elevado, assisted by Justin Gerrish. Studio C hosted James Farber mixing a record by Joel Frahm, assisted by Anthony Ruotolo. Farber also used C to record Sean Jones with producer Al Pryor. And, engineer Josiah Gluck recorded music for Robert De Niro's The Good Sheppard in C, with producer Bruce Fowler and assistants Anthony Ruotolo & Bryan Pugh. Other sessions in Studio C included Dave O'Donnell recording a new album with Deborah Cox, produced by Rob Mounsey, assisted by Brian Montgomery; Jay Newland overdubbing with Abbey Lincoln for an album being produced by Jean-Philippe Allar; Chris Botti overdubbing with producer Bobby Colomby and engineer Kevin Killen; and Steve Khan recording with engineer Malcolm Pollack. Avatar's Studio G, equipped with an SSL 4000G+ console, welcomed Gary Chester mixing a 5.1 surround for the movie Predator vs Prey, music produced by Richard Fiocca, assisted by Brian Montgomery. Also in G, Steven Barkan mixed and recorded overdubs for a Cirque du Soleil project with producer Louie Vega, assisted by Justin Gerrish, and Roy Hendrickson mixed music for an HBO project called Heavenly Voices, produced by Jack McCracken. The new Studio E, a Pro Tools HD suite, hosted Thwak! Music's Tony Verderosa mixing spots for V8, Weight Watchers and Bacardi with engineer Christian Wicht. And, in the Kevorkian Mastering studio, Fred Kevorkian mastered albums by The Valley Arena, The Alright Ma's, Finding Four, Low Stars and Escapist Papers.
